For these High Holy days…
Rabbi Hayim of Tzanz used to tell this parable: A man, wandering lost in the forest for several days, finally encountered another. He called out: “Brother, show me the way of this forest.” The man replied: “Brother, I too am lost. But I can only tell you this: The ways I have tried lead nowhere; they have only led me astray. Take my hand, and let us search for the way together.” Rabbi Hayyim would add: “So it is with all of us. When we go our separate ways, outside of our community, we may go astray.” Let us, these upcoming festival days, join hands together and look for the way forward!

Pourquoi demandons-nous –même nos membres– une contribution financière pour participer aux offices des grandes fêtes ?
Le prix des places que nous vous demandons sert à financer la communauté tout le long de l’année et représente un tiers de son budget annuel.
Si la communauté est là pour vous accueillir chaque année à Tishri même si ce n’est que pour quelques heures, c’est parce quelle arrive à vivre le reste de l’année avec ses frais de fonctionnement comme toute association à but non lucratif.
Ceci étant, Kehilat Gesher souhaite accueillir toute personne intéressée que soit ses ressources. Veuillez demander notre formulaire de ‘Demande d’Allègement de Cotisation’ au moment de votre inscription.
Renvoyez donc vos bulletins d’inscriptions accompagnés d’un don à la hauteur de vos moyens et vous permettrez ainsi à notre communauté et au judaïsme libéral en France de vivre et de se développer.

Why do we ask –even our own membership– for a financial contribution to participate in our congregation’s High Holy day services?
The price for seating which we ask serves to finance our congregation the entire year, and in of itself, represents a third of our annual operating budget.
If our community is there to welcome you every year during these holidays –even if it is for just a few hours– that is because we have managed to pay our regular operating expenses during the rest of the year, as all non-profit institutions must do.
Kehilat Gesher’s policy is to welcome anyone interested in becoming a member-partner regardless of financial resources. For those with financial constraints, please request a financial aid form when you register.
Please consider sending in your inscriptions, accompanied by a donation that reflects your financial possibilities. In this manner, you will become a partner in our congregation’s development, and the development of Liberal Judaism in France.
